Meet Richard I. Gilbert

Mr. Gilbert received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctorate from the Detroit College of Law, now a part of Michigan State University. In 1975 he moved his family to Florida and was immediately admitted to the Florida Bar and the Federal Bar for the Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Gilbert, early in his career, owned numerous businesses, one of which focused on assisting domestic power plants, both fossil and nuclear, as well as numerous ship lines worldwide; avoid short-term expensive shutdowns, thus enabling them to save great deals of money. Subsequently, he expanded his practice to assist individuals and corporations facing financial problems save their properties and assets and has for the past 25 years focused his practice on Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, and Foreclosure Defense.

On a personal level, Mr. Gilbert is an avid sports fan. He often attends sporting events throughout Florida, and whenever possible, in Michigan.

Mr. Gilbert resides in Boca Raton, close to his law office, thus enabling him to meet clients at unconventional hours. Mr. Gilbert has one daughter, Jessica, who is a second grade teacher in nearby Broward County.
